Thomas Bainton

Mr Thomas Bainton is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Ovara Health, with specialist expertise in endometriosis, complex gynaecological conditions and minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery. He is part of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE)-accredited Endometriosis Centre at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Mr Bainton studied medicine at the University of Oxford before completing his postgraduate training in Cambridge and North West London. He subsequently undertook advanced fellowships in endometriosis and complex gynaecological surgery, alongside a dedicated research fellowship at Imperial College London, where he investigated the diagnosis of endometriosis and the role of inflammation in the condition. He continues to contribute to research aimed at improving understanding and treatment of endometriosis.

At Ovara Health, Mr Bainton offers specialist assessment and management of a broad range of women’s health concerns, with particular expertise in complex endometriosis, pelvic pain and advanced laparoscopic surgery. His practice also encompasses general gynaecology, fertility-related investigations, menstrual disorders, menopause care and comprehensive obstetric care.

He supports women throughout pregnancy, from routine antenatal appointments to the management of higher-risk pregnancies, labour and birth, including complex obstetric cases.

Mr Bainton believes that excellent care begins with understanding each patient’s individual circumstances, concerns and priorities. His approach is personalised and collaborative, ensuring that women feel informed, supported and confident in the decisions they make about their health.

“I feel extremely privileged to care for women at hugely important moments in their lives. I take a highly personalised approach and work closely to understand priorities for care, overall health, and wider circumstances in order to ensure patients feel informed, supported, and confident in the decisions we make together.”
